[Two] men are called Odd and Ragnar. Odd is a young man and fair, and very strong. Ragnar is a very wealthy man. Ragnar has a good boat, and very long. They are both Norwegians and live in Norway.
Ragnar asks Odd and many vikings to enter the boat. Now they all go sailing. They sail in a large creek. [From] out of the boat they see an isle. There is some sand and a forest. "The isle is called Geir's Isle." Ragnar says to Odd. They also see a wide, clear meadow. Odd asks "What is the meadow then called, so clear?" "It is called Clear Meadow. Strong winds blow there." Ragnar replies him. "There I have many horses, and they eat well in the meadow. In Clear Meadow there's also a well, very deep." he says. Odd sees a broad waterfall and asks "What's the waterfall called, which falls there?" Ragnar answers him "The waterfall is called Forest's Fall, and is very broad." Ragnar shows Odd creeks, isles, forests, sands, waterfalls, and meadows, while they sail. Odd says "You are a man most wise and speak well, Ragnar, and now I know many creeks and meadows here in Norway."
Soon they come to (in) Ulfarsheim, where Earl Ulfar lives. Ragnar hates Ulfar very much and wants him dead. As they walk out of the boat and onto the sand, he says "Ulfar lives here in Ulfarsheim, an earl most evil and rich. He does not spare good men."
Now they walk in Ulfarsheim and soon see a large town. Ragnar speaks "The town is very big. It is as big as Isle City." Then Odd replies "I do not know Isle City." Ragnar tells him "You're a young man, Odd, and not wise. Isle City is a large city in Eastway. [There,] there are many wolves in extensive forests.

When lfar sees Ragnar coming with a young man and many vikings, he says, "Many fires burn in me, while Ragnar lives. I grant him no mercy if he does not leave (go) [out of] lfarsheim soon." The men are afraid, who are with him, as they hear him speak so. lfar takes a sword and a horse, and leaves.
As they walk, Oddr asks Ragnar much (= many questions, use "mjk"). But Ragnar does not answer him. He says: "lfar comes soon. Do not speak, he wants all of us ("oss alla") dead." But Oddr and the vikings do not speak. They stand and are afraid. Now Ragnar also sees what they see.
He sees lfar on a horse. The wind blows as he speaks: "You are all dead ("feigir") men. I do spare men like you." As he is coming, they see the fire [that is] burning in him.
Oddr and the vikings flee. They do not want to die in lfarsheim. Ragnar sees them flee and shouts: "You are all cowardly! But now I flee too, for lfar grants no mercy." Then he flees with the men. lfar does not pursue them. He says: "Some men I do grant mercy - cowardly men."
