3.1 Translate the phrases into English

a) Hvárt etr ormrinn sjálfan sik?
Does the serpent eat itself?
b) Menn konungs eru ţegnar hans.
The men of the king are his thanes.
c) Eigi er sporđr fisks matr góđr.
The tail of the fish is not good food.
d) Ragnarr vill vega orm; hann hefir geirinn međ sér.
Ragnarr wants to slay a serpent; he carries the spear.
e) Ragnar vegr orminn en oddr geirs hans stendr fastr í honum.
Ragnar slays the worm but the point of his spear is stuck in it.

3.2 Translate the phrases into Old Norse

a) The helm of the dwarf is gilded.
Gylltr er hjálmr dvergsins.
b) The earl's hawk sees itself.
Haukr jarls sér sjálfan sik.
c) People do not eat the tail of the serpent.
Eigi eta menn sporđ ormsins.
d) Ragnarr's spear is broad.
Geirr Ragnars er breiđr.
e) The point of Ragnarr's spear is big.
