High Back Fronting

No map. Conservative (=old-fashioned) RP and URP have no High Back Fronting. It is common in Southern British accents and in the Southern Hemisphere

 * In the audio clip for GOOSE I give 4 variants. My own is the second one.
The most extreme variant doesn't sound very convincing to me,
but you can hear almost fully fronted variants in young
Estuary speakers, almost the same as my FLEECE. Their
FLEECE, by the same token, will be Diphthong Shifted ( )
